Thank you so much to everyone who attended last night’s workshop in Denver! This workshop is definitely much more intimate and personal than any tour I’ve done in the past, which is really awesome because it allows students incredible access to share ideas with Jared Abrams and me.

Last night we spent a ton of quality time answering questions and passing around some really cool gear. It was really exciting seeing everyone’s lightbulb turn on as we discussed the future of the photography business.

With the first workshop in the books, we made our way to Minnapolis super early this morning (3:30!) for tonight’s workshop at the Holiday Inn Metrodome. Can’t wait to see everyone tonight and do it all over again!

Prepping for Texas School, Video Tour

It seems like just yesterday we returned home from the Power of Passion tour.

Now two weeks later it’s already time to leave again, not for another tour, yet, but for Texas School of Professional Photography, an educational experience where more than 1,000 photographers from around the world meet for six days of intensive instruction and an all-out fun time.

In addition to soaking up all I can from the most passionate, knowledgeable photographers in the world, I’ll be teaching a studio management class creatively named “The Really Big Class of Studio Management.”

Texas School is truly one of my most favorite events all year and I can’t wait until it starts Sunday!

As we began to prepare for this weekend’s trip to Dallas, we’re also starting to get ready for my first-ever Sandy Puc´ Presents Tour, If It Moves, Shoot It: Merging Motion and Stills with Jared Abrams. The start of that tour is already somehow just two weeks away!

The video tour will be a nice change of pace from the Power of Passion, as the venues and audiences aren’t as large and, of course, the content is so incredibly fresh and progressive.

Tomorrow I’m also looking forward to welcoming Michigan-based photographer Brianna Graham to the studio for a gypsy-themed session

Brianna is one of the most talented and creative photographers in the industry today, and I can’t wait to pick her brain!

After our shoot tomorrow (Thursday), Brianna will be joining me for a live stream Friday for a seminar on children’s portraiture. Stay tuned for the link!

And we’re off!

I can hardly believe it! The big day is finally here! Our spectacular tour bus is waiting in the parking lot, and our bags are packed (we even remembered to pack our toothbrush!). It’s showtime! Well, almost.

This baby may look gigantic from the outside, but I have a feeling after a few week's it'll start feeling a little too cozy.

After months and months of late-night planning and conquering a few of the inevitable last-minute surprises, we’re officially hitting the road for the 2011 Power of Passion Tour. We’ve already enjoyed two successful shows in Denver and Las Vegas, but somehow it just doesn’t quite feel the same when you’re not all cramped together on the bus.

In a few more hours we’ll be taking off, bound for an overnight stay in Kansas before arriving in Oklahoma City for Sunday’s Power of Passion Tour show. Give us a shout if you have a spare room for us available in Kansas! Be warned, though, you’re entire food supply will be drained.

Somehow Canon has already reserved shotgun for the entire trip.

With Canon the Pirate Puppy on along for the ride, there’s sure never to be a dull moment this year.

The anticipation at the studio today was truly incredible. It’s like being a kid on Christmas Eve all over again. Waiting, waiting, and waiting, until BAM, the special day you’ve been anticipating for so long is finally here!
