Despite Murphy’s Law, DSLR Video Workshop Rolls On!

If Murphy’s Law says, “Anything that can go wrong will go wrong”, then Sandy’s Law says, “When what can go wrong goes wrong, smile more and keep a positive attitude.”

After our flight to Chicago was cancelled Thursday morning, forcing us to scramble like mad and drive seven straight hours to arrive in time for last night’s workshop, we were under the impression that the worst was behind us as we safely boarded our flight this morning to Columbus. Lo and behold, upon arriving in Columbus, we found out that all our tour cases were suddenly missing!

I’m not usually a believer Friday the 13 curses, but this is down right cruel!

Like I’m sure all of you have unfortunately experienced before, it’s been nearly impossible getting any kind of definite answers about the status of our luggage. All that we’ve been told is that if we’re “lucky”, we’ll get the cases back by 4 this afternoon. Well that would be fantastic, but there’s one small, little problem: our DSLR Video Workshop starts at 4!

Oh, well. There’s nothing else we can really do other than keep a positive attitude and be thankful that we all arrived safely.

Experience the future of portrait photography at Sandy Puc's DSLR Video Workshop.

With such an early flight this morning, everyone is extremely tired. Having a day off tomorrow in Philadelphia is going to be the greatest thing any of us can ask for. But first, we’re determined, whether we have our equipment with us or not, to give the great folks of Columbus a fantastic workshop tonight.

After last night’s workshop in Chicago, where we were blown away by the sold out attendance, Jared and I are really starting to get in the groove of things. This workshop is truly one of the most unique experiences ever! It’s so awesome to see photographers so enthusiastic about diving head first in the wild, new world of video!

When I see the expressions on students’ faces as they discover just how easy and fun some of this video stuff is, I’m floored. So many photographers are mistaken about how difficult and expensive adding video is. But honestly, with a few pointers and tips, it’s really not as scary as it seems!

After tonight's workshop in Columbus, it's off to Philadelphia tomorrow for a much-needed day off!
