2012 Charity Model Search

I’m excited to announce that it’s almost time to begin another Charity Model Search, benefiting my favorite charity, Now I Lay me Down to Sleep (NILMDTS). I co-founded this 501©3 nonprofit organization in 2005, and it is more near and dear to my heart than ever.

NILMDTS offers free, professional portraits to parents suffering a loss of a new baby. This delicate and tragic time in a family’s life is profoundly heartbreaking. Commemorative portraits of the baby are a source of healing for parents and a unique way to honor their child’s precious memory.

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Charity Model Search

The Charity Model Search is a major source of funding for the meaningful work that they do at NILMDTS. It’s a wonderful asset to the charity, made possible by portrait photographers (and their clients) across North America.

With your participation, you will receive substantial exposure in your local community as well as on a national level, through the charitymodelsearch.org website, where the voting process occurs. Your clients will be featured on the model search website, with the opportunity to win prizes and become North America’s Cutest Kid. Best of all, all proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit NILMDTS.

With your $25 registration on charitymodelsearch.org, you will receive a full set of marketing templates to help get your clients involved in this campaign. You can begin booking sessions and uploading portraits on January 1st, 2012. There is no limit on entries per photographer. Once uploaded, each portrait will receive $1 votes from family, friends and the general public. North America’s Cutest Child will be announced in mid-April next year, with valuable prize packages for the winning child and photographer.

Participating in the Charity Model Search is not only a great way to gain exposure to new clients in your community; it’s also a great way to give back. Last year’s Charity Model Search raised over $44,000 for NILMDTS. That is truly amazing. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make that a success. Please join us this year.

Register at charitymodelsearch.org starting October 1st to become a part of this important cause.

Dedicated to NILMDTS

NILMDTSThe beginning of a parent’s hopes and dreams. The anticipation of the pitter patter of tiny little feet. A family being born unto each other. No parent ever expects their dream to shatter. But sadly, sometimes this dream can turn into a nightmare.

Each year nearly 3.3 million babies are stillborn, and more than 4 million others die within 28 days of coming into the world. [World Health Organization] With advanced medical technology, it is a parent’s expectation that those born unto us will outlive us. When a baby dies, it is outside the natural order of life and families are left devastated and forever changed.

Every living being instinctually knows how to grieve. It is learning how to heal, that some need help with. Offering gentle and beautiful photography services in a compassionate and sensitive manner is the heart of the Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation.

NILMDTSRemembrance Photography is a very important step in this healing process. Photographs are one of the most precious and tangible mementos that a parent can have, showing the love and bond that was given and shared with their baby. These portraits will last for generations, and will honor and remember a tiny life that is forever loved and cherished.

Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep is an organization that I co-founded in 2005, and is as near and dear to my heart as it was in the planning stages seven years ago. With over 7,000 volunteer photographers working in over 25 countries, this important work is reaching families all over the world. To raise awareness for NILMDTS, I’ve activated an account on About.Me. Vote for my profile HERE and help us get a billboard on Time’s Square in New York City.

Where in the World should Sandy Puc’ go?

Introducing the 2010 Sandy Puc’ Nomad Adventure…

Bacharach, Germany

Germany is among the early favorites in the 2010 Sandy Puc Nomad Adventure.

HELP! I need a country! The first weekend of every December, I pick a country, fly there, and in 48 hours, shoot a city and fly home. I do not sleep, and I push myself as hard as I can. Last year Turkey was breathtaking.

Rhodos Island, Greece

Greece would certainly be quite the adventure.

This year I don’t know where to go! I am thinking India, Bali, Nepal, Puerto Rico, Sweden or Greece… But really I want something small and unheard of.

You can help me decide by going to my Facebook page. Simply click on the “2010 Sandy Puc Nomad Adventure” gallery to see all the breath-taking destinations.
Under each image (which represents a suggested country), simply “like” the destination you want to vote for.
Moscow, Russia

Moscow, Russia, would be so incredible.

Whatever country has the most Facebook “likes” will be my destination. Thanks to everyone who contributes their thoughts and votes.

I can’t wait!
